June Photo Challenge//Day 9//Current View… Summer Thunderstorms
My favorite photo of 2011.
I manged to capture this photo while in the initial climb after departing Tyndall AFB. We were climbing to 8,500’ and going to play in a training area before shooting multiple approaches. This was our wingman in the training mission, a QF-4, like the one we were flying in.
I love this photo because the absolute beauty of the Gulf Coast is on display. The thin island you see is known as Shell Island; you can only access Shell Island by boat. Shell Island is home to a versatile amount of biological life and the access to the Gulf of Mexico provides some of the cleanest, blue water you could imagine.
This area might not be much for culture but the beaches are beyond beautiful.
